A traditional British festive high tea with sandwiches, scones, cakes and sparkling wine at Carlton Towers.
Carlton Towers is doing a Festive High Tea on Tuesday 22 December, and it's exactly what it sounds like: a traditional British high tea with a seasonal twist, served in the grand state rooms of one of Yorkshire's most spectacular historic homes. If you've spent any time around York, you know the estate, and having the tea inside the house rather than in a separate cafe is a big part of the draw.
The spread is a proper high tea. You'll get freshly prepared festive finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and preserves, and a selection of homemade cakes and festive sweet treats. There are also savoury pastries on the table, so it's not all sugar. To drink, there's freshly brewed tea or coffee, and every guest gets a complimentary glass of Carlton Towers Sparkling Wine to toast the season.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in York and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's a daytime thing, and they're running it across the afternoon rather than as a single sitting. Tables are available at 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm and 3pm, so you can pick the slot that fits your day. Tickets are £49.50 per person, and there are children's tickets available too, which makes it an easy one to bring the family along for if you're looking for a festive outing that doesn't involve a full dinner.
