A series of weekly creative storytelling and craft sessions designed for children aged 2-5, led by Story Craft Theatre.
Crafty Tales returns to the York Theatre Royal this autumn, running every Friday from 25 September to 4 December. It's a weekly craft and storytelling session for children aged 2 to 5, held in the Upper Foyer.
Each session is led by Cassie and Janet of Story Craft Theatre, professional theatre makers who build the morning around a specific theme. They start with big hellos and warm-up games, then move into songs, crafting, and interactive storytelling. The whole thing is designed to help the little ones develop confidence, language, and social skills while they're at it.
The themes change every week, so you can pick and choose the ones that suit your child best. It kicks off on 25 September with Ready, Steady, Build!, followed by Off to the Farm on 2 October, The Secret Island on 9 October, and The Spider who couldn't Spin on 16 October. The second half of October brings Mischievous monsters on the 23rd, and November opens with Badger's Bonfire Night on the 6th, Making Friends on the 13th, The Magical Toy Shop on the 20th, and Going to the Hairdressers on the 27th. The run wraps up on 4 December with The Upside-Down Kingdom.
