If you have spent any time in the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the music is hard to forget. Now there is a way to hear it live. The Witcher in Concert lands at York Barbican on Sunday 25 October, and it is not a simple playback session. It is a full-scale production from CD PROJEKT RED, built to mark the tenth anniversary of the game, with a full orchestra and choir bringing the soundtrack to life alongside visuals and gameplay elements.

The music is the real draw here. The original soundtrack was the work of Marcin Przybyłowicz, Mikołaj Stroiński and the folk band Percival Schuttenbach, and this concert uses a special arrangement of the 35-track score, which runs to about 81 minutes. Przybyłowicz, who also worked on Cyberpunk 2077, is supervising the whole thing, and the ensemble includes members of Percival Schuttenbach, the Polish folk metal band whose traditional Slavic sound gave the game its distinctive edge. Their track "Lazare" is one of the pieces that made its way onto the soundtrack.
A few practical things are worth knowing before you book. The show is rated 16+, so it is not one to bring younger children to, and that is because it pulls in scenes from the game's ending. Doors open at 18:30 and the performance runs until 23:00, so it is a long evening. Tickets go through Ticketmaster, with premium options available and a booking fee on top, and if you need accessible booking you will need a registered Nimbus Disability Access Card. Fancy dress is allowed, which is a nice touch for a fan show, but there is one firm rule: nothing that looks like a weapon.
For anyone who has not played the game, the timing is actually quite convenient. A free remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on 29 September, with better visuals and performance plus the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions included at no extra cost, so you can get up to speed before the concert. And if you are already deep in the lore, the wider news is worth keeping an eye on: a new paid expansion called Songs of the Past is due in 2027, and The Witcher 4, with Ciri in the lead role, is currently in development for 2028.
York is one stop on a much bigger tour. The autumn 2026 run kicks off in Dublin on 21 October before visiting more than 25 cities, and it follows a massive European tour last year that took in Cologne, London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris, Antwerp, Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Stockholm, with a US leg that began back in September 2025. Whether you are a diehard fan of the series or just someone who appreciates a big orchestral night, this is a rare chance to hear one of the most recognisable soundtracks of the last decade played properly live. It is a long evening, but for anyone who knows the music, it is the kind of night that is hard to pass up.
