Katherine Jenkins brings her 25 Year Anniversary Tour to York Barbican on Thursday 15 October at 7pm, a few days from now. The Welsh soprano has been singing for a quarter of a century, and this is her first tour in five years. The set list draws on her best-known songs, among them "Time To Say Goodbye", "Jealous of the Angels" and "I Will Always Love You". The tour started at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on 2 October and finishes at Belfast's Waterfront Hall on 27 October, so York is one of its last stops in England.

She is joined on stage by Jodok Cello, the Swiss cellist who is making his UK live debut on this tour. Jodok grew up in Lucerne and started playing the cello at six. He is known for playing barefoot in natural settings, often on an instrument he built himself as the final project of his time at a Waldorf school, a process that took him 568 hours. He has more than 13 million followers on social media, and he has worked with artists such as Alan Walker, Lindsey Stirling and Andrea Bocelli. Before the tour, the two released a recording of the "Flower Duet" that pairs her voice with his cello.
General sale opened back in February, so most seats will already be spoken for, but the York box office is still the place to check. You can get in touch at ticketing@yorkbarbican.co.uk. Tickets are collected on the night of the performance only, and you will need the Ticketmaster booking reference, which can be a letter of authorisation rather than a card. A booking fee applies. Bookings for accessible seating need a Nimbus Disability Access Card.
There are also two VIP options. The Ultimate Katherine Jenkins VIP Experience, run in association with Cygnet Gin, which she co-founded with Andrew Levitas, includes the best seats, a welcome cocktail, a meet-and-greet with a professional photo, signed merchandise, and a laminate and lanyard. The KJ25 Silver VIP Package gives you the best seats, signed merchandise, and the same laminate and lanyard, without the drink and the meet-and-greet.
York Barbican sits on Paragon Street, right beside the city walls. The venue's website has a full guide to access. Before you head out, note that adult backpacks, large umbrellas, briefcases, luggage, large bags and cushions bigger than 35cm x 40cm x 19cm are not allowed inside. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
