Fourth annual film festival with screenings, filmmaker Q&As, an awards ceremony and afternoons of tea, scones and finger sandwiches at Wild Rover Brewing Company.
Wild Rover Brewing Company hosts the fourth annual Wild Rover Film Festival on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, from 1 PM to 8 PM. It's a weekend of indie screenings, panels, and networking over craft beer, all held at the brewery's 125-capacity room, The Brewery, which is set up with a 120-inch projector and a cinema-grade sound system.
The festival was started by Theodoric Wells, a SAG-AFTRA actor and Tisch School of the Arts graduate, as a platform for filmmakers from around the world. The venue itself is a family-run British-American brewery, pub, and music venue that takes its name from the English folk song "The Wild Rover"—a theme they've brewed into all their house-made beers, with a rotating tap list of 40 original recipes and a specialty in cask ales.
Each day is built around "Afternoon Teas" of tea, scones, and finger sandwiches, followed by a filmmaker Q&A and an awards ceremony that presents "The Wild Rover" to one filmmaker. This fourth edition redirects all submission fees to Light Inside Cinema, a veteran-led nonprofit that employs veterans and is working to film a commercial and a short to premiere at the festival.
