Homecoming football game between the South Florida Bulls and the Kent State Golden Flashes at Raymond James Stadium.
USF takes on Kent State at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, October 17, from 7 PM to 10 PM. It's the first time the Bulls and the Golden Flashes have ever played each other, and the timing makes it a bit more than just another Saturday night game: it's the Bulls' Homecoming game, so alumni and fans are expected to fill the stands.
USF steps out of American Athletic Conference play for this one, which is a non-conference matchup. They're coming off a close 31-24 road loss to Texas-San Antonio, and they sit at 4-2 overall. Quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. has been efficient through six games, with five touchdowns and zero interceptions. On the other side, Kent State's signalman Dru DeShields has 980 passing yards and three rushing touchdowns to his name so far.
