The Smashing Pumpkins bring their Rats in a Cage Tour to Tampa, delivering their signature blend of alternative edge and melodic punch.
The Smashing Pumpkins play the Benchmark International Arena on Sunday, October 18, as part of their Rats in a Cage Tour. It's a single-night stop in Tampa, and they're the only act on the bill.
The set they're bringing is described as moving from shimmering, layered guitars to thunderous crescendos, driven by the blend of alternative edge and melodic punch that defined an era. That's the sound they've built their name on—the contrast between the quiet, textured parts and the loud, heavy ones—and it's what they're leaning into for this tour. The Rats in a Cage title gives the run its name, and the show is built around that same dynamic.
As for the venue, the Benchmark International Arena is one of the city's go-to spots for a big night out, so it's a familiar place to catch a show like this. The Smashing Pumpkins are the sole feature of the evening, meaning the whole night is their set.
