A 'circus of sound' night of local Tampa Bay bands, live painters, artisans, a light show and circus performers under a big top at 1920.
The Music Exchange 4 is coming to 1920 Ybor on Thursday, October 22, a night presented by George Pennington and 1920. They're calling it a "circus of sound," and the setup fits the name: the whole thing is staged under a big top at 1920, with a string of local Tampa Bay bands playing tight 30-minute sets. The lineup includes George Pennington, Taylor Reed, Hovercar, Antro Banks, Trio Politan, and Galbraith & Co.
It's not just the music, though. While the bands rotate through, live painters, artisans, and vendors will be working around the space, and Laser Fox is handling the light show. Circus performers from the Circus Arts Foundry will also be part of the night, so the "circus" part of the description carries through. The venue has a full kitchen, a bar, and a rooftop overlooking Ybor City, and all ages are welcome.
Pennington and 1920 frame the evening as a gathering built around music, community, and connection, a chance to discover new sounds and take in Tampa's local entertainment scene. With six bands each playing a half-hour set, you'll hear a fair bit of the area's music in one night.
