Two-hour evening session led by MOSI space experts on setting up and using a telescope to explore the night sky, for ages 10 and over.
MOSI is hosting Telescope Tutoring at its Science Park on Thursday, October 22, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's a two-hour session led by the museum's space experts, who walk you through the basics of setting up, aligning, and using a telescope to explore the night sky. The whole point is to get you comfortable with the gear you already own, so you bring your own telescope along.
It's a small-group setup, with a capacity of ten people per session, so you're not just one face in a crowd. The experts spend the evening working with you on the practical side of things—the kind of stuff that's a bit tricky to figure out on your own when you're standing in the dark. If you've got a telescope sitting in a closet because you're not quite sure how to align it or get a clear view, this is exactly the kind of night to bring it in and get it sorted.
The session is open to ages 10 and up, and anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. It's weather-dependent, though if things turn south, the session moves indoors. This is one of several dates on the calendar: October 22, November 19, January 21, and February 25, 2027, all running from 7 PM to 9 PM.

Pre-registration is required at least a week in advance, so you'll want to sign up well before the date. The cost is $50 for the two hours, or $37.50 for MOSI members. With the small group size, the spots tend to go quickly.
