Annual black-tie gala with luxurious dinner buffets, full bars, live music and Riverwalk views, presented by the Gonzmart family.
The Tampa Bay History Center is hosting its Annual Gala on Friday, November 13, from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM at 801 Water Street. It's a black-tie evening, and this year's theme is Golden Hour: Sunset in Sevilla, presented by the Gonzmart family.
If you've been to one of these before, you know the format is a bit different from your usual gala. There are no assigned seats, no set agenda, no speeches, and no auctions. It's run as an open house, so you spend the night moving around the room rather than sitting through a program. The evening is built around luxurious dinner buffets, full bars, and live music, with views of the Riverwalk. It tends to draw a mix of the region's founding families, newcomers, business leaders, and museum enthusiasts.
This year's theme, Golden Hour: Sunset in Sevilla, is a nod to the family heritage of the gala's chairs, Andrea Gonzmart Williams and Beau Williams, and to Tampa's deep historical connection to Spain. The Gonzmart name is closely tied to the city's civic, cultural, and hospitality history, so the Spanish influence fits right in. Proceeds from the night go toward the History Center's mission of celebrating the region's heritage and preserving it for future generations.
