Sunset Paddle Happy Hour with Urban Kai

Urban Kai is running its Sunset Paddle Happy Hour at Armature Works this Friday, October 23, and it's one of those things that's still going on throughout the fall. The whole thing is based at their spot in Armature Works, 310 W 7th Ave, right on the river, so you're launching from the heart of the neighborhood.

There are two time slots to choose from: 5 PM to 6 PM and 6 PM to 7 PM. Since it's a sunset paddle, the later slot puts you out on the water as the light starts to drop, which is the whole point of the thing. It's a seasonal run, so if you miss this Friday, you've still got plenty of chances—the series runs from April 3 all the way through December 25, 2026. That means you can come back on a different Friday when the weather is better, or bring a different group of people later in the season.

As for what you'll be on, they've got a few options. A stand-up paddleboard or a single kayak is $25, and a double kayak is $35 if you're bringing a partner. If you already have your own gear, you can just pay $10 to join in. You're out for an hour, and since it's a happy hour, the vibe is more about a casual float than a workout. It's a good way to spend a Friday evening on the water before the weekend really kicks in.
