Concert by Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy, with Scarlet Rae, at The Orpheum in Tampa.
Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy are playing together at The Orpheum on Sunday, October 18. It's a double bill that puts two of the more recognizable names in indie rock on the same stage, and they're sharing the night rather than one opening for the other.
Snail Mail is the project of singer-songwriter Charlie Roelen, and Soccer Mommy is the moniker of Sophie Hastings. Both have built their reputations around a similar kind of guitar-driven songwriting—melodic, often leaning into the slower, more reflective side of indie rock. They've each put out several records, and they've both spent a good deal of time touring, so this is a pairing that makes a lot of sense on paper. Between the two of them, you're getting two full sets in one night.
Opening the bill is Scarlet Rae, who'll get the first slot of the evening. With her on the lineup, the night actually runs three acts deep, so there's a fair amount of music to work through before the doors close.
