Two-hour evening of stargazing led by MOSI astronomers through telescopes in the outdoor Science Park and the Holloway Digital Dome Theatre.
SkyWatch is back at MOSI on Friday, October 9, from 8 PM to 10 PM. It's an evening of stargazing led by MOSI astronomers, and they've set it up for everyone from first-time sky watchers to seasoned stargazers. The session runs for two hours, and you'll spend them looking at the stars, planets, and celestial wonders through telescopes set up from the ground level of the outdoor Science Park all the way up to the top of the Holloway Digital Dome Theatre. The night is weather dependent, so if the conditions turn, the whole thing moves indoors.
SkyWatch is part of Space Week at MOSI, the museum's contribution to World Space Week, a United Nations-declared observance that's grown into the largest annual space event on Earth. Its last edition saw around 50,000 events across 102 countries. MOSI itself is the Tampa Bay center of science and innovation and home to the Saunders Planetarium, the second-largest planetarium in the United States.
