Hands-on STEAM class for students aged 11-13 to create video games with characters, animations and sounds using simple code.
MOSI is hosting a video game programming class for 11- to 13-year-olds on Thursday, January 7, 2027, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a hands-on session where students build their own games from the ground up, adding characters, animations, and sound using simple code. If you've got a kid in that age range who spends more time playing games than talking about them, this is a good way to flip the script and let them see how the things actually work.
The class is part of the Homeschool Science Experience Enrichment Days, or SEED, which is a series of monthly STEAM classes MOSI puts together for homeschoolers. The whole point of the series is to supplement a home curriculum with hands-on exploration across science, technology, engineering, art, and math, so this fits right into that. It's a student-only session, meaning parents need to make other arrangements while the class is running.
