Homeschool STEAM class for ages 11-13 where students build and program LEGO robots using motors and sensors.
Robot Craze is coming to MOSI on Thursday, February 4, 2027, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a LEGO robotics class for homeschoolers ages 11 to 13, and the whole session is built around building and programming robots using motors and sensors. The kids spend the morning putting them together and then writing the code to make them move, so they're doing both the mechanical side and the software side in one go.
The class is part of MOSI's Homeschool Science Experience Enrichment Days, or SEED, which is a series of monthly STEAM classes they run for homeschoolers. The idea is to complement a homeschool curriculum with hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, rather than just reading about them in a book. Robot Craze fits right into thatโit's a couple of hours of actually building something that works, not just watching a demonstration.
One thing to keep in mind is that these are student-only sessions. The kids work on their robots while parents make their own arrangements for the morning, so it's a chance for them to dive in and figure things out on their own. If your kid is in that 11-13 age range and has a thing for LEGO or coding, this is exactly the kind of thing they'll get into.
