Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, with drummer Annika, play the Benchmark International Arena on the Fifty Something Tour.
Rush are playing Benchmark International Arena in Tampa on Monday, November 9, and Wednesday, November 11, as part of their Fifty Something Tour. Both shows start at 7:30 PM, with doors opening 60 to 90 minutes before.
For anyone who knows the name, the lineup on stage will look a bit different than it did for decades. The band's co-founders, Geddy Lee on bass, keys, and vocals, and Alex Lifeson on guitar and vocals, are back together, and they're joined by drummer Annika. The Fifty Something Tour is built around the band's music and history, and these Tampa dates are part of that run.
It's a legacy that carries some weight. For years, Rush was the interplay of Lee, Lifeson, and the late Neil Peart, who played drums and wrote the lyrics. Peart passed away on January 7, 2020, and the band's run with him added up to more than 45 million albums sold worldwide and seven Grammy nominations. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 1996 they were made Officers of the Order of Canada. They also have stars on both the Canada Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lee and Lifeson are carrying that forward now with Annika on drums.
