Raíces y Futuro: An Evening of Community, Culture, and Impact

SHPE Tampa Bay is hosting its inaugural fundraising gala, Raíces y Futuro: An Evening of Community, Culture, and Impact, at the Tropical Home Fine Art Gallery on Saturday, November 7. It's the chapter's first gala, and the night is built around a mix of dinner, dancing, and a silent auction.

The dancing part is handled by Iroko Dance Academy, who'll be on hand to give salsa lessons before the floor opens up. If you've never danced salsa, that's your chance to learn the basics before the party really gets going. Between the lessons and the dancing, there's a full dinner and an open bar, so you can eat and drink your way through the evening.

Behind the party is SHPE Tampa Bay, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works with students and professionals in STEM. They describe their mission as empowering that community through mentorship, scholarships, professional development, and educational initiatives. The gala brings together professionals, students, community leaders, and supporters from across the region, and the proceeds go toward the chapter's programs and initiatives throughout the Tampa Bay area. The silent auction is another way to contribute, with the winning bids going toward those same STEM efforts.

It all happens at the Tropical Home Fine Art Gallery, 1705 North 16th Street, Tampa, FL 33605, from 6 PM to 10 PM on Saturday, November 7. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
