Practical Magic: A Halloween DIY Workshop & Watch Party!

Raining Berries - South Tampa is hosting a Practical Magic watch party and craft workshop on Thursday, October 29, from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. The whole thing is presented by Lit & Lunar Press, and the night centers on making your own mooncatcher—a bit like a suncatcher, but for anyone who wants to be closer to the moon—while the movie Practical Magic plays in the background.

Emery Graves is running the workshop, and she'll start the evening by demonstrating how to wire-wrap, answering questions as she goes. The whole session leans on the energy of the Owens sisters, with a quote attributed to Sally Owens—"there is no man only that moon"—framing the night as a way to get closer to "the magnetic aura of la luna."

There's a set schedule to the evening. Check-in and the craft demo run from 4:15 to 4:30, followed by a decompress session from 4:30 to 4:45. Then, from 4:45 to 5:45, you'll be crafting while watching the movie. Every general admission ticket includes a basic mooncatcher kit and a voucher for a food or beverage from Raining Berries, and the organizers provide craft supplies and light refreshments.

Tickets for the Magic Moon Pass start at $40. The workshop is at Raining Berries - South Tampa, 1912 South Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33629, on Thursday, October 29, from 4:30 to 7:00 PM.
