Plant vs. Bloomingdale

Plant takes on Bloomingdale at Henry B. Plant High School on Friday, October 23, for a varsity football homecoming game. It's a home game for the Panthers, so the action stays right here in Tampa.

Homecoming games usually bring a bit more to the table than a standard Friday night matchup. Beyond the game itself, there's the homecoming court and the tradition of alumni returning to the school for the weekend, which tends to put a different energy in the stands. It's as much a community thing as it is a sports one, and that's a good reason to show up even if you aren't a diehard football fan.

On the field, it's the Plant Panthers hosting Bloomingdale. Both teams are playing for a varsity win, and with it being a homecoming game, the home crowd will be out in force. If you've followed the local high school circuit this season, you know these matchups can swing one way or the other, and the atmosphere at Plant usually reflects that.

If you're planning to go, keep in mind it's a Friday night in October, so the weather should be on your side. The game is at Henry B. Plant High School in Tampa on October 23.
