Charity golf tournament with 18 holes, lunch, contests, a silent auction and a Happy Gilmore Challenge to support Pepin Academies.
Pepin Academies are hosting their Falcon Fright Golf Tournament at Rogers Park Golf Course on Saturday, October 24, from 9 AM to 3 PM. It's a charity event, so the day is built around raising money for the students. You'll get 18 holes of golf, lunch, a silent auction, and a few contests on the course. There's also a Happy Gilmore Challenge, which is exactly what it sounds like, and the whole day is themed around costumes, so you can lean into the Halloween spirit while you play.
To understand where the money goes, it helps to know what Pepin Academies actually is. They're tuition-free, public charter special education schools run as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit for students with learning and learning-related disabilities in the Tampa Bay area. They have campuses in Tampa, Riverview, and New Port Richey, and they provide individualized instruction, Career & Technical Education, athletics, performing arts, clubs, and a Transition Program to help students move into middle or high school, post-secondary education, or employment. Executive Director Jeff Skowronek, MST, Ph.D., says the schools were founded to serve students with Individualized Education Plans and that "Belonging leads to Learning."

That's the core of the day: every foursome, sponsorship, raffle ticket, and donation goes directly to those students. If you're not a golfer, there are still ways to get involved—sponsoring a hole or buying raffle tickets counts just as much as playing the round. The tournament runs from 9 AM to 3 PM at Rogers Park Golf Course in Tampa on Saturday, October 24.
