Texas acoustic pop duo Penny & Sparrow play the New World Brewery's Music Hall with opening act Caleb Elliott.
Penny & Sparrow play the New World Music Hall on Wednesday, October 21, with Caleb Elliott opening. The show is part of the duo's Florida '26 Tour and is presented by Glory Days & Brokenmold Entertainment.
Penny & Sparrow are Andy and Kyle, a Texas duo whose sound moves between intimate acoustic warmth and adventurous pop textures, built on layered harmonies. Their last album, Olly Olly, was recorded in a garden shed they borrowed from a friend and grew into a twenty-track record they describe as vast, weird and wholly unexpected. It was followed by Lefty, which they frame as the journal of their inner child, filled with sketches of dreams, nightmares, erotica and literary fan fiction alongside poetry, elegies and love letters; the author Pierce Brown called it a celebration of their journey beyond their traditional genre.
Opening act Caleb Elliott is a Louisiana-born singer-songwriter now based in Florence, Alabama. His sophomore album, Weed, Wine & Time, draws on the country of JJ Cale, the soul-jazz of Michael Kiwanuka and the lyricism of Sufjan Stevens. Between the two acts, the night pulls from a few different traditions—Texas folk-pop and Alabama singer-songwriter—so it's a good one to come to with a friend who might not usually go to the same kind of shows you do.
