Black-tie annual Tampa Museum of Art gala, its 40th edition, honoring women in Tampa Bay and raising funds for the museum's K-12 outreach programs.
Pavilion XL is the Tampa Museum of Art's annual gala, and this year it's celebrating its 40th. The event takes place on Saturday, November 7, from 7 PM to 11 PM at the museum, 120 W Gasparilla Plaza. It's a black-tie affair with cocktails, dinner, dancing, and entertainment, and the proceeds go toward the museum's outreach initiatives.
That outreach is where the money actually lands. The gala supports programs that bring about 12,000 K-12 students through the museum every year, plus thousands more who come for art camps, classes, and other experiences. So while the night itself is a party, the funding keeps the museum open to kids and families across the region.
This edition's theme is dedicated to the art of impact and the women behind it. The honorees are Taneka Bowles, Maureen Cohn, Elisabeth Condon, Stephanie Conners, Cornie Corbett, Sandra GonzΓ‘lez Gompf, MD FACP FIDSA, Ya La'Ford, Lee B. Leavengood, Margaret Miller, Barbara Romano, and Cathie Wood. Elle Chancey, Mary Crino, and Danyell Jones Munassi are chairing the committee, with Pat Carter and Sandy Juster serving as honorary chairs.
