Merit Badge Workshop: First Aid (Spring)

MOSI is hosting a First Aid Merit Badge Workshop on Saturday, April 24, 2027, from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. It's a full-day session designed for scouts to work through the First Aid merit badge in one go, rather than stretching it out over several meetings. If you've got a scout who's been eyeing this one, it's a good way to knock it out in a single Saturday.

The workshop covers the core of the badge: recognizing emergencies, treating injuries, and applying first aid skills. That means the scouts spend the day learning how to spot when someone needs help and what to do about it, from basic wound care to handling more urgent situations. It's hands-on work, so they'll be practicing the skills rather than just listening to a lecture. By the time the day wraps, they'll have gone through the requirements needed for the badge.

It runs from 10 AM to 3:30 PM at the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa, so you'll want to clear the whole day for it. It's a five-and-a-half-hour stretch, which is why it's a good fit for a scout who wants to get the badge finished in one sitting. If you're bringing a scout, you can come along too—the workshop is open to both scouts and adults.

Registration is $33 per scout and $7 per adult. If you're a MOSI member, that drops to $28 per scout and $5 per adult. You can sign up through the museum's shop site.
