Ira Glass, creator of 'This American Life', brings his live stage show to the Tampa Theatre, recreating the radio experience with stories, narration and music.
Ira Glass brings his live storytelling show to the Tampa Theatre on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The performance is presented by the theatre and WUSF.
If you're not familiar with the name, Glass created and hosts the radio show This American Life, which more than three million public-radio listeners hear every week. It was the first radio show or podcast to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. Beyond the radio, it's become one of the world's most popular podcasts, known for a "funny stories with feelings" approach that's influenced countless other audio programs.
On stage, the show takes you behind the scenes of This American Life. Glass mixes memorable moments and his own narration with pre-taped quotes and music to recreate the radio experience live in front of an audience. It's a look at how the show is put together, told by the person who built it.
