Career fair connecting electrical and computer engineering students at USF with employers, with company sign-ups and tables.
IEEE at USF is hosting its Career Fair at the Marshall Student Center on Wednesday, October 21, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. It's one of the student branch's signature technical and professional events for Fall 2026, and it's built for electrical and computer engineering students looking for internships and full-time roles. The fair takes place in Room 2707 of the Marshall Student Center at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
What sets this apart from a general career fair is how it's organized. Instead of one big room of random booths, more than 150 USF engineering students are grouped by their focus area: RF + Wireless Circuits, Semiconductors + Nanoelectronics, Power + Energy, Communication Systems, Robotics/Mechatronics and Embedded Systems, and Systems + Security. That means employers can go straight to the candidates already working in their specific field rather than sorting through a general pool. There's also a curated student resume book, and companies that get it can access the talent even if they don't set up a table at the fair.
Behind the event is IEEE at USF, a student branch that dates back to 1964 and now has over 600 members. Its mission is professional development and technical excellence through hands-on workshops, engineering projects, and industry engagement. The technical program, EXO, builds robotics like a lower-limb exoskeleton, and the branch runs initiatives including SoutheastCon, SWARM, RAPTOR, and Automation Fest.

For companies, one table is $300, which includes the table, two chairs, lunch for two, and two parking permits. Additional tables are $200 each, and there's a $100 marketing package add-on. The fair runs from 10 AM to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 21, in Room 2707 of the Marshall Student Center.
