A night of live Greek music, dancing, food and drinks with several Greek acts at Acropolis Greek Taverna.
Acropolis Greek Taverna is hosting a Greek Night on Friday, October 30, at its South Tampa location, 3023 W. Kennedy Blvd. It's a full evening of live Greek music, dancing, food, and drinks, with several acts sharing the stage throughout the night. Manolis Kotsiras is organizing it, and he's billing the whole thing as "one night, one stage, Greek vibes all night long."
On the performing side, you'll see Christos Perras, Konstantina Skalioti, and Elias Poulos. The music is led by Maestro Vangelis Bachatouras, with Simos Nikolopoulos on bouzoukiโthe long-necked lute that gives Greek music its distinctive, bright sound. Between the three singers and the live band, the night is built around the music and the dancing that goes with it, so it's as much about getting up as it is about sitting and listening.
Since it's at Acropolis, the food and drinks are part of the evening, not just something on the side. You can eat and drink while the music is going, and the dancing is encouraged throughout. It's the kind of night that works whether you're coming for the music, the food, or both.
