Free and open-to-the-public support and educational meeting by LiveLung, with guest speaker Allissa Hopkins, a certified death doula.
Going With Grace is back at the Holiday Inn Tampa North on Wednesday, October 21, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. It's the latest in a monthly series of support and educational meetings run by LiveLung, a nonprofit that works with lung cancer patients, survivors, and their care partners. Each session brings in a different guest speaker, and this one is led by Allissa Hopkins, a certified death doula with the Florida End-of-Life Alliance.
If you've never heard the term, a death doula provides nonmedical emotional, spiritual, and practical support to people nearing the end of life and to their families. It's the kind of work that fills the gaps medical care doesn't cover: sitting with someone during their final hours, helping them create meaningful projects to leave behind, guiding families through grief, and being a calm, consistent presence when things get heavy. Hopkins will be talking through that role and the support it offers.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Tampa and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The meeting is free and open to the public, though you'll need to pre-register to get in. A complimentary lunch is included, so you can come, listen, and eat without spending a dime. It runs from 11 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday, October 21, at the Holiday Inn Tampa North, 3751 E Fowler Ave in the Terrace Park neighborhood.
