PG-13 walking ghost tour through the haunted 1926 Tampa Theatre, exploring the building's paranormal history, part of the 'A Nightmare on Franklin Street' series.
The Ghosts of Tampa Theatre Tour is running at the Tampa Theatre from October 19 through October 31, 2026. It's a walking tour that takes you through the ghost stories of the 1926 movie palace, which has a reputation as one of the most haunted theaters in the country and regularly draws paranormal investigators and psychics. The tour is rated PG-13, starts in the lobby, and visits about six locations where the most paranormal experiences have been reported.
Everything is rooted in the building's actual history rather than urban legend. The stories follow specific figures: who was the man in seat 308, where did Robert Lanier tear his final ticket, and why does Fink Finley continue to roam the balcony? There are no costumed characters or special effects to lean on, so the atmosphere comes from the stories and the building itself. If you're into that side of things, you can download a free ghost radar app to use while you walk.
The tour is part of the theater's October series, A Nightmare on Franklin Street, presented by Bank of America, which also programs horror films, stage shows, and storytelling throughout the month. It runs on a specific schedule: Mondays and Thursdays at 3 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays at 11 AM. Keep in mind that the Friday and Saturday sessions are already sold out, so you'll want to look at the weekday slots if you're planning to go.
