Horticulture class on dracaena with a presentation and Q&A by Bessie Morris, part of Flower Show 2027 - Wanderlust.
Bessie Morris is leading a horticulture class on dracaena at the Tampa Garden Club on Tuesday, January 12, 2027. It's part of the club's FLOWER SHOW 2027 - WANDERLUST, so if you're already planning to be around the conservatory that week, this is one of the sessions you can slot in.
Morris is a local Florida gardening advocate and an experienced dracaena enthusiast and grower, and she sits on the UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County Native Plant Committee. She'll be sharing what she knows about these tropical foliage plants—the kind of elegant, structural greenery that works well in Florida's climate. The class is built around her personal experience growing them, so it's more of a practitioner's look at the plants than a general overview.
The morning starts with a coffee and social half hour, which is a nice way to settle in before the actual teaching begins. The presentation runs from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, followed by a Q&A where you can pick her brain on the specifics of keeping dracaena healthy. And if you leave the class wanting one for your own space, you can buy dracaena plants on the day, right there at the venue.
