A two-and-a-half-hour evening with barbecue authority Steven Raichlen celebrating his memoir 'Man on Fire', with BBQ, drinks and a copy of the book.
Steven Raichlen is coming to the WEDU PBS Berkman Family Broadcast Center on Friday, October 23, for an evening centered on his new memoir, Man on Fire: Of Life, Love, Literature, and Really Good Barbecue. The book officially comes out on October 20, so this is one of the first chances to hear him talk through it in person. The whole thing is presented by WEDU PBS.
If you're not familiar with the name, Raichlen has spent decades as a barbecue authority, bestselling author, journalist, and television host. He's the face behind PBS favorites like Project Smoke, Project Fire, and Planet Barbecue, where he's described as a master of American grilling. This isn't a cooking class or a demo, though—it's a celebration of the memoir, so the focus is on the stories behind the smoke.
It's a long session, running two and a half hours, and it's built around eating and drinking. Your ticket covers BBQ and drinks, and you walk away with a copy of the memoir itself. So you get the book, the food, and the chance to hear the man who wrote it talk about it all in one go.
