Finest in Funk featuring AJ Hall

AJ Hall brings another edition of Finest in Funk to Hotel Haya on Thursday, October 22, from 7:30 PM to 11 PM. The night is presented by The Music Bureau and takes place in the Los Novedades Room, at 1412 East 7th Avenue in Tampa, with the entrance at the corner of 15th Street and 7th Avenue.

It's an all-vinyl experience centered on classic funk and soul from 1974 to 1986. Hall spins the original albums, and the rule is strict: no mash-ups and no laptops allowed. The series has moved to the larger Los Novedades Room inside Hotel Haya to keep up with a massive increase in demand, so if you've caught previous editions in smaller spaces, this one has a bit more room to breathe.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head over. Entry is restricted to over-21s, and seating is limited and first come, first served, so arriving early is your best bet if you want a spot. The bar works on walk-up service only—no tableside or lounge service here. No food or drink is allowed inside the room during the event, though the organizers recommend making a reservation at Flor Fina before the show if you're looking for a meal first. Tickets are non-refundable.
