A restorative culinary event that turns a shelter space into a black-tablecloth, 5-star restaurant with a 3-course dinner by Chef Marques Clark.
The "Fine Dining Experience" Project comes to Tampa Hope - Catholic Charities St.Pete on Sunday, November 22, at 1 PM. It's a restorative culinary event that transforms a shelter community space into a black-tablecloth, 5-star restaurant for unhoused neighbors, with a three-course dinner prepared by Chef Marques Clark.
The project is part of The SpreadYourHeart Organization's TENT HOMIES Campaign. This November, during National Homeless Awareness Month, the campaign brings together local visionaries to turn a shelter space into a high-end dining room for the afternoon. The center of the meal is a three-course dinner by Chef Marques Clark, served to neighbors who usually wouldn't find themselves at a table like this.
It's a specific kind of transformation: taking a space that serves as a shelter and treating it, for a few hours, like a fine-dining establishment. The black tablecloths and the multi-course meal are the visible parts of that change, and the people invited to sit at the tables are the neighbors the shelter serves. The meal is the main feature, and the setting is the point.
