Beginner-level figure drawing session taught by artist Yeats Ihrig, with live nude models and materials provided, on Tuesdays at the Tampa Museum of Art.
The Tampa Museum of Art is running a series of figure drawing sessions this fall, with the next one on Tuesday, October 20, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's part of a larger stretch of classes that run on select Tuesdays—September 22, October 20, November 17, and December 15—so you can drop in for one or keep coming back. Each session lasts three hours, and they're pitched at a beginner level, open to adults 18 and over.
The setup is straightforward: live nude models work with the group, and you work in your chosen drawing or painting media to learn the fundamentals and expand your 2D knowledge while creating images from life. The museum provides the drawing materials, so you don't have to bring your own kit if you're just starting out. Along the way, you'll get tailored instruction to help you find your footing.
The sessions are taught by artist Yeats Ihrig, whose work is featured in the museum's Get Inspired artist interview collection. If you're curious about his style before you sign up, that's a good place to start. The classes are held at the museum, located at 120 W Gasparilla Plaza in downtown Tampa, in the River Arts area.
