Outdoor double feature screening of 'Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' and 'Hocus Pocus' on the Big Screen at Lower Deck.
Lower Deck is hosting a double feature movie night on Wednesday, October 28, with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Hocus Pocus playing back-to-back on the big screen. It's a mid-week Halloween double, so you can catch both in one go rather than picking one or the other.
The lineup covers two very different kinds of October nostalgia. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is the Peanuts special we all know—Linus waiting in the pumpkin patch, Charlie Brown's trick-or-treat mishaps, and the whole gang in their costumes. It's short, sweet, and usually the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Halloween animation. Then comes Hocus Pocus, the Disney movie about the three Sanderson sisters being brought back to life in Salem, which is a bit more of a full-length commitment. Putting them together means you get the cozy, low-stakes charm of the Peanuts special followed by the more chaotic energy of the witches.
Both are shown on the big screen, so it's a theater experience rather than something you're watching on your couch. If you've seen them a dozen times, there's still something different about seeing them in a room with other people, and if you're bringing kids who haven't seen them yet, it's a pretty easy way to knock out two of the season's staples in one night.
