Final hands-on class of the Cut Flower Growing series, tying together the full process from soil preparation to harvesting a first bouquet.
The Sustainable Living Project is wrapping up its cut-flower growing series with one final class, Cut Flowers - Putting It All Together, on Sunday, November 22. It's the capstone of the whole series, and the goal is to tie everything they've covered into a practical plan you can actually use in a Florida garden. The session runs through the entire process from start to finish: picking your flowers, preparing the soil, choosing varieties, deciding on beds and containers, sowing seeds, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, and staking. It also covers how to plan for a continuous harvest around Florida's specific growing seasons, so you're not just getting one burst of blooms and then nothing for the rest of the year.
The class is held outdoors with hands-on demonstrations, and they leave time for questions and for sketching out a growing plan for your own space. If you're coming with a specific patch of yard or a few containers in mind, it's a good idea to have those details ready. You're welcome even if you missed the earlier classes in the seriesโthis one is designed to pull the whole journey together in one go, so you don't need to have been there from the start to get something out of it.

On the day, flower, vegetable, and herb starts will be available to buy, and specialty plugs can be pre-ordered. Since it's outdoors, you'll want to come prepared: bring water, dress for garden work in closed-toe shoes, and bring sun protection and a notebook. The class runs from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, with doors opening at 10:20 AM, at The Sustainable Living Project, 918 W Sligh Ave, Tampa, FL 33604. Tickets are $10 per person.
