Guided morning of hands-on, outdoor history exploration for toddlers at Cracker Country, Florida's rural living history museum.
Cracker Country Pioneer Tots is a toddler event at Cracker Country on Thursday, December 3, from 9 AM to 11 AM. It's built for the smallest visitors—kids from 18 months to 4 years—and it's a guided morning of hands-on, outdoor history exploration. If you've got a little one in that age range, it's a way to get them out and active on a weekday morning.
To get a sense of the setting, Cracker Country is Florida's only rural living history museum, located on the Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 N US Highway 301 in Tampa. It's dedicated to preserving rural life in the state during the late 19th century, so it's a step back into the past. On a typical day, you can run a turn-of-the-century general store, explore a 1900s schoolhouse and a period cabin, and meet docents in historic dress. The General Store stocks nostalgic reproduction items, historical toys and games, books and candy, and the proceeds go toward the museum's education programs. Beyond educational field trips and privately scheduled tours, the museum stages a limited number of public events each year, and this toddler session is one of them.

Because it's a guided session, you're not just wandering on your own—the morning is structured around the kids. It's an outdoor experience, so it's as much about getting some fresh air as it is about the history. Tickets are $14 per person and are available online only, so you'll need to buy them in advance. Keep in mind that the museum won't be open for general exploration on the day, so the session is the only way to get in. It runs from 9 AM to 11 AM on Thursday, December 3, at Cracker Country on the Florida State Fairgrounds.
