Cardinal Bloom at New World Tampa

Cardinal Bloom play the Music Hall at New World Tampa this Sunday, Oct. 18. They're an indie-rock band out of Salt Lake City, and they're bringing Jackson Alter along to open the bill.

If you haven't come across them yet, the name might ring a bell from TikTok. That's where they first caught on, with the track "She's Just a Friend" doing the heavy lifting. They self-produce their own music, and in 2024 they put out their first full-length album, The Only Place I've Ever Known.

As for how they sound, the description that keeps coming up is early-aughts indie recorded in a garage. It's a specific kind of guitar-driven rock that puts them in the same conversation as The Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes—think sharp, punchy lines and a bit of a rough-around-the-edges feel. If those are your kinds of records, this is exactly the sort of thing you'll recognize.

Tickets start at $23, and the show is this Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Music Hall at New World Tampa.
