Candlelight tribute concert in which string quartet Listeso plays Juan Luis Guerra's bachata hits in the historic Centro Asturiano de Tampa lit by LED candles.
A string quartet is taking on the music of Juan Luis Guerra at the Centro Asturiano de Tampa on Thursday, November 19, 2026. It's part of the Candlelight series, which does exactly what the name says: they set up thousands of flameless LED candles in a room and let a small ensemble work through a specific artist's catalog. This one is a tribute to Guerra, so you'll hear his songs reimagined for strings rather than the full band sound he's known for.
The setlist pulls from his most recognizable work, with Bachata Rosa, Burbujas de Amor, and La Bilirrubina among the songs the quartet will cover. It's a tribute experience, not a show by Guerra himself, so the focus is on the arrangements rather than the original recordings. The quartet performing is Listeso, based here in Tampa.
The venue is the Centro Asturiano de Tampa, at 1913 N Nebraska Ave in Ybor City. It opened in 1902 as a social club for immigrants and descendants of immigrants from Asturias, Spain, and today it's a 1,000-capacity historic theater listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its 1914 Renaissance Mediterranean architecture and elegant interior, which includes a grand ballroom. The room is lit only by those LED candles, so the atmosphere is as much a part of the evening as the music.
