Candlelight tribute concert with the Mabry Quartet playing the music of Hans Zimmer at the historic Centro Asturiano de Tampa.
Candlelight brings a tribute to Hans Zimmer to the Centro Asturiano de Tampa on Sunday, December 6, from 4 PM to 5 PM. It's part of the Candlelight series, which takes live music into unusual spaces and lights the room with candlelight. The music here is all Zimmer—the scores from Inception, Interstellar, The Lion King, and Gladiator—played under that same glow.
It's a tribute concert, not a performance by Zimmer himself, and it's not affiliated with him or his estate. The show runs 65 minutes, and since it's a tribute, the set is built around the work he's known for rather than a specific album or tour. The program for this particular edition hasn't been confirmed yet, so the exact list of pieces is still open.
The venue is the Centro Asturiano de Tampa, which opened in 1902 as a social club for immigrants and descendants of immigrants from Asturias, Spain. Back then, it did more than just host gatherings—it provided a hospital, a cemetery, and health insurance for its members. It's a piece of the city's history, and that's the kind of place Candlelight likes to use.

On the practical side, doors open an hour before the show and close five minutes before it starts; late arrivals aren't admitted, so you'll want to be in your seat by 4 PM. Seating is assigned first-come, first-served within each zone. The venue isn't ADA compliant, with stairs at the entrance and exit points. It's recommended for ages 8 and older, and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $36.50.
