His first number one came in 1975 with "Mandy," a cover of the British song "Brandy." His stage career took him to Broadway for a Tony Award-winning debut in 1977 and to the West End for Copacabana – The Musical. He's also performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo. Beyond the stage, he founded the Manilow Music Project, which has donated more than $3 million in instruments to high schools across the U.S. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame in 2012.
