Pay-as-you-will exhibition series at the Tampa Museum of Art, open every Thursday evening through January 2027.
Art on the House is back at the Tampa Museum of Art this Thursday, October 23, from 4 PM to 8 PM. It's a recurring afternoon for the museum, running every Thursday through January 2027, so if this week doesn't work, there's plenty of room to catch it later.
The museum is at 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza in the Cornelia Corbett Center, right in the Downtown River Arts neighborhood. The whole point of the program is to make the museum a family-friendly after-work destination, which is a nice way to spend a Thursday evening if you're already downtown or just want to swing by before dinner. It's their best admission deal for exploring the exhibitions, and since it runs every week, you can take your time with the galleries rather than trying to see everything in one go.
There's a lot to work through here. The museum was founded more than a century ago by Tampa art lovers, and its Centennial Renovation and Expansion project has opened up more exhibitions and studio art classes than ever before. The permanent collection covers sculpture, photography, painting, and new media, and it houses one of the largest Greek and Roman antiquities collections in the southeastern United States. The exhibitions lean on ancient, modern, and contemporary art, so you'll find a mix of the old and the new in the same building.
