Monthly free 5K running meetup held on the first Wednesday of each month at Armature Works, by the Hillsborough River.
The Armature Works 5K is back at Armature Works on Wednesday, May 6, as part of its monthly run on the first Wednesday of each month. It's a casual 5K through the Tampa Heights neighborhood, starting and ending at the Armature Works parking lot.
If you're not familiar with the spot, Armature Works is a multi-use destination housed in a historic brick streetcar barn right along the Hillsborough River. Inside is a food hall with concepts from local chefs, and the open-air courtyards and waterfront patios host night markets, maker events, and community gatherings that bring together local artisans, food lovers, and music fans. The run takes place right by the water, with vendor tents like Rezzi and Fit2Run handing out giveaways.
The 5K is framed as a social running meetup rather than a competitive race. You can run the course with a group of running friends or turn up solo and make some along the way. It's the kind of thing you can do at your own pace, whether you're out to hit a personal best or just want to get some miles in with other people.
