Alvin Ailey II

Alvin Ailey II comes to Ferguson Hall - The Straz Center on Thursday, February 25, 2027, for a single performance. It's a theatre production that puts professional stage dance and live storytelling center stage, the kind of show that draws audiences from across the region rather than just the local neighborhood.

If you're not familiar with the name, it helps to know what you're getting into. This isn't a recital or a series of disconnected pieces; it's a full theatre production. The dance is professional and live, and the storytelling is woven right into the performance, so the movement and the narrative work together instead of one just following the other. It's a blend of live theatre and stage dance that keeps the focus on the performers in the room.

That's also why it's billed as a theatre production rather than just a dance show. The storytelling is a big part of the experience, and the live performances are the main feature. It's the kind of evening that works as well for someone who follows dance as it does for someone who just wants a night at the theatre.

The show is at Ferguson Hall - The Straz Center, 1010 North Macinnes Place in Tampa, and it starts at 7 PM. Tickets start at $73, with an average price around $123.
