Hands-on aviation exhibit with four interactive galleries and a virtual supersonic fighter jet, produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing.
Above and Beyond is open at MOSI (Museum of Science & Innovation) at 4801 E. Fowler Ave in North Tampa. It's an immersive, hands-on aviation experience produced by Evergreen Exhibitions in association with Boeing, in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. It opened May 16 and is listed as running through January 2027, so you've got plenty of time to fit it in.
The exhibit takes you from the Wright brothers' first flight to the possibilities of tomorrow across four interactive galleries: Up, Faster, Higher, and Smarter. It kicks off with a wraparound immersive theatre that sets the stage before you move through the galleries. Inside, you can design and test your own supersonic fighter jet and race it in a virtual high-speed competition, or examine a slice of a real airplane fuselage to see how aluminum and carbon-fiber composites are used. There's a giant multitouch timeline of flight history to explore, and you can try flying in a V-formation—a pattern the US Air Force and Boeing tested with C-17 cargo planes and found cuts fuel consumption by up to 10-20%.

MOSI CEO John Graydon Smith says the exhibit gives everyone a new, hands-on way to capture the excitement around space and exploration. It's included in MOSI admission, so if you're already planning a day at the museum, this is part of the ticket.
