The Vet Off-Leash: Dr. Barak Benaryeh

Dr. Barak Benaryeh comes to The J - Staenberg Family Complex on Wednesday, October 21, for an evening centered on his new book, The Vet Will See You Now: What Every Pet Owner Needs to Know (but Doesn't). Benaryeh is a veterinarian and the host of the podcast The Vet Off-Leash, and he's described the book as Kitchen Confidential meets All Creatures Great and Small—the kind of behind-the-scenes look at a profession that's usually kept behind closed doors. The talk will pull from that, with usable information on pet food, behavior, and veterinary care.

It's part of the St. Louis Jewish Book Festival & Speaker Series, an annual celebration of authors, books, and ideas that usually runs through the first two weeks of November. The festival covers a wide range of topics—business, cooking, economics, family, fiction, history, music, religion, sports, and more—so this is one of the earlier sessions in the lineup. This particular evening was made possible by the Jewish Book Council and sponsored by CareVet.

The session runs from 7 PM to 9 PM at The J's Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur. Tickets are $38.92.
