High school marching band students from across the country compete at the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Championship.
Bands of America brings its St. Louis Super Regional Championship to The Dome at America's Center on Friday, October 23, 2026. High school marching bands from across the country travel here to compete, so it's a national field rather than just a local one. The competition runs through Saturday, October 24, as well.
If you're not familiar with the venue, The Dome is the big multi-purpose space in downtown St. Louis that hosts conventions, trade shows, and exhibitions. It's built to shift quickly from exhibition space to a field or a concert venue, which is exactly what happens for an event like thisβthe floor becomes a performance area for the bands. It's physically connected to the rest of the America's Center convention complex, so it's easy to get to if you're already downtown.
The Dome has a long history of hosting large-scale events. In 1999, it held a Mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II, which was the largest indoor gathering ever held in the United States. It's also staged major sporting events, including the 2005 NCAA Men's Final Four. On other nights, it hosts rock concerts, motocross races, and monster truck rallies, so it's used to a wide range of crowds. For this weekend, it'll be high school students and their families instead. The venue also has two permanent special-events spaces for receptions, parties, and galas.
