If you have a project in mind but no workshop at home, MADE Makerspace in St. Louis is worth knowing about. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Delmar Maker District, at 5127 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108. It is a shared workspace for makers, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs, with classes and a collaborative atmosphere. The shop has professional-grade equipment, including angle grinders, bandsaws, welders, laser cutters, and electronics benches. It is aimed at adults, and the minimum age is 13. Children can attend family events, but it is not a kids' makerspace. Teens aged 13 to 17 can be added to a membership for an extra $25 a month. One member featured on the website is Tim Varner, a craftsman who built a garden-sized Maypole for a client.

Before reserving any machine, new members must schedule a training class. Free training covers basic tools, and private one-on-one sessions are available for a small hourly fee. Reservations are made through the Members Only section of the website, but walk-ins are welcome. A monthly membership costs $125 a month, with no contract, and you can cancel at any time. It includes access to the whole shop, free group training classes, and free monthly points. The annual membership costs $1,200 a year, which works out to a 20% discount on the monthly rate. A student membership is $75 a month and stays valid for up to one year after graduation. Businesses with three or more employees can choose a scaled plan, starting at $250 a month for up to four employees with one active equipment spot. Members also get $5 in points on the first of each month, which can be used for classes or retail purchases. A referral program gives both the referrer and the new member a $25 discount on the next renewal.
The space is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, and it is closed on Sundays. You can pay with CashApp, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or JCB. The building has three areas: the Makerspace itself, The Commons, which hosts author talks, artmaking, and professional events, and The Front Room, the retail store. The previous gift shop was destroyed by a tornado, and a new one featuring work by St. Louis artists was planned to reopen on March 20, 2026. Every third Friday of the month, MADE and other groups in the district host free, family-friendly activities, demonstrations, and live music. The next one is on November 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. On December 18, 2026, the district holds its third annual Delish on Delmar, with a food festival, makers market, block party, and live music.
On Google, MADE has a 4.8 out of 5 rating from about 80 reviews. You can reach the team at (314) 328-5656 or info@madestl.com. The full list of classes and membership details is on the official website.
