It's a psychological thriller directed by Michael Showalter and written by Nick Antosca, adapted from Colleen Hoover's 2018 novel. The cast brings together Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a largely unknown author who's invited by Hatchette Book Group to take over the Noble Virtues series from the best-selling writer Verity Crawford. Verity can no longer finish her next three titles after an accident, so Lowen moves into the Crawfords' architecturally impressive Vermont home to do the work. While she's there, she grows close to Verity's husband Jeremy and their son Crew, and starts uncovering disturbing truths about the woman whose career she's ghostwriting. It all plays out against the backdrop of the tragedy that drowned Crew's sister, Harper.
