Supergirl is showing at Showcase Cinema De Lux in Southampton from Monday 6 July through Thursday 9 July. It's the latest film in the DC Universe and a faithful adaptation of the 2021-2022 comic book miniseries.
The story follows Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El — better known as Supergirl — who is new to Earth and the ultimate 'new girl', albeit one with a planet-splitting right hook. When a ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, she reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice. It's a bit of a fish-out-of-water setup, with Kara finding her feet on a new planet while dealing with a threat that forces her into a partnership she'd rather avoid.
If you've followed the comics, you'll recognise the source material: the 2021-2022 miniseries that the film is based on. It's a DC Universe release, so it sits alongside the other films and series in the franchise. The run starts on Monday 6 July and goes through to Thursday 9 July, giving you a few days to catch it during the week rather than fighting the weekend crowds.
