Rob Copland is headlining The Attic on Friday 31 July, one of the comedy nights that the venue runs throughout the year. Copland is an award-winning comedian, and this is a stand-up night with him as the main feature.
The Attic Comedy Club & Live Music Venue is in Totton, on the edge of Southampton. It bills itself as the newest and most innovative entertainment club in Hampshire and the south of the UK, and it's become a bit of an icon of Southampton's nightlife. The comedy nights there bring together a mix of local acts and UK household names, and the club runs the annual Hampshire and Southampton Comedian of the Year competitions. It also plays a focal part in the New Forest Comedy Festival.
Beyond the comedy, it's a major live-music venue that covers a lot of ground. It stages tribute acts to artists like Abba, Arctic Monkeys, Blink-182, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Kraftwerk, Nirvana, Pet Shop Boys, Pink Floyd and Rod Stewart. It's drawn positive reviews in local publications like the Southern Evening Echo.
